How it started

Tired of bending over paper books

Dhwalin Shukla, the founder of GuestRAR, was fed up with bending over register books to write his details every time he visited friends' homes. He and his friends lived in small and mid-sized premises — not premium societies — so he rarely saw a digital visitor system at the gate.

He knew these systems existed widely in the market. What he could not understand was why they showed up only in premium premises, and almost never in the buildings most people actually live in.

So he surveyed 100 buildings. Most committees said the available solutions were simply too expensive. That gap was the opening. GuestRAR started in March 2024.

How Shailesh Rana came in

A one-line LinkedIn post. A ₹30 lakh commitment.

Dhwalin and Shailesh Rana were classmates. Dhwalin sat in the last row; Shailesh was the class topper in the front. They knew each other only in passing — the hi-hello-bye kind of friendship.

Then Dhwalin put up a one-line LinkedIn note about funding for GuestRAR. Shailesh approached him straight away and committed ₹30 lakh at the ideation stage. That is how he became investor and director of the company.
